Sharda Temple - Kodampakkam, Chennai

Nestled at the heart of Chennai, the gateway to South India, is the enchanting Sharda Temple. This sacred haven, located near the Meenakshi College for Women campus and the iconic Kodampakkam Bridge, holds a special place in the city's spiritual landscape.

The temple's origins date back to 1986 CE when it was established, a humble beginning made possible by the generous land donation from Meenakshi College. Over time, this modest temple underwent a remarkable transformation in 2012 CE, emerging as a magnificent sanctuary. One of its crowning features is the towering 120-foot gopura (entrance tower) that graces its precincts.

As we enter the temple, we will be greeted by the serene presence of the beautiful icon of Sharda in the sanctum. Here, amidst the tranquil ambiance, we will also discover sub-shrines dedicated to Venkatachalapati and Ganesha.

The administration of this sacred space falls under the auspices of Sringeri Sharda Peetha, adding to its spiritual significance.

Embark on a journey to the Sharda Temple, where divinity and devotion converge in the heart of Chennai, inviting you to explore its tranquil beauty.

Happy travelling.
