Akkarai Beach - Chennai

Chennai, serving as the gateway to South India, boasts numerous beaches, with Marina Beach and Eliot's Beach being particularly popular, even drawing visitors from beyond the city. However, due to their widespread fame, these beaches often become excessively crowded. Fortunately, the Chennai Corporation has undertaken efforts to introduce alternative beach destinations, offering residents and tourists additional options beyond Marina and Eliot's.

Over the past decade, several beaches, primarily along the East Coast Road, have undergone development, providing families with more choices for leisurely outings. Among these newly developed beaches is the one in Akkarai, near Sholinganallur—a hidden gem that has gained popularity in recent years. This beach, characterized by its small and picturesque setting, stands out for its relative tranquility and cleanliness compared to the more frequented ones.

Situated in close proximity to the ISKCON temple in the Akkarai area along ECR, this beach offers a serene escape for those seeking a more peaceful coastal experience.

Happy travelling.
