Sri Prasanna Venkata Narasimha Perumal Temple - Saidapet, Chennai

Sri Prasanna Venkata Narasimha Perumal Temple, located in the Saidapet area of Chennai, is a lesser-known temple.

The temple was built in the 15th century AD by Vijayanagara kings.

The temple, adorned with a beautiful tower at its doorway enshrines Prasanna Venkata Perumal (Vishnu) and his consorts Sri Devi and Bhoo Devi.

The metal images of Narasimha, Perumal, and his consorts are also located in the sanctum.

Alarmel Mangai and Andal are enshrined in separate sub-shrine in the prakara.

The sub-shrines of Chakrathalwar, Ramanujar, Manavala Munigal, Tirumangai Alwar and Nammalwar are found. There is an icon of Adi Sesha, believed to relieve the people from the fear of snake bites (sarpa dosha).

Rama with Sita and Lakshmana, and Hanuman in the opposite direction, is seen in a shrine.

Happy travelling.
