Ooty is one of the most popular summer destinations of India. Thousands and thousands of travelers visit this popular hillstation named as 'Scotland of India'. Originally named as Ootacamund and Udhagamandalam, it has become very famous in its short name 'Ooty'. The queen of the blue mountains sits at the center point of Nilgiri mountain ranges at a height of 7440 feet.


The botanical gardens well laid out with ornamental plants and flowers, is a main attraction in Ooty. The 20 million years old fossiled tree trunk is the highlight of the garden. The summer festival is held every year in May.


The Rose Garden, which is spread over 10 acres, is another major attraction of this prominent hill station of India. During the season, you can find around 2000 varieties of rose flowers in this garden.


For those who are interested in boating, the option is available in the artificial lake popularly called as 'Ooty Lake'.


Dotta Betta is the highest spot in this hill. It's a good destination for trekking.


One cannot separate Ooty from its neighbour Connoor. Although both are two separate sites, tourists generally consider them as a single destination.


Sim's Park in Connoor has around 1000 species of trees. The fruit and vegetable show that is held every year here is very popular among the tourists.


Lamb's Rock and Dolphin's Nose give great view of the entire region.


The Mettupalayam - Udhagamandalam passenger train that runs in the narrow gauge is a heritage railway line. The train runs through some of the most beautiful places. The tourists get a unique experience while travelling by this train.
