Abirami Mega Mall - Chennai, India

Abirami Mega Mall is a shopping mall located at Purasawakkam area of Chennai city in South India. It used to be a cinema complex earlier. After the mall culture developed in Chennai, this was converted into a mall. Hence, it has become very congested. Adding to the fact that Purasawakkam area itself is congested, this place looks always uncontrollably crowded.

Abirami Mega Mall has multi screen Abirami Cinema halls. This is the main attraction of the mall, as the cinema hall remains as the landmark of this area for many decades. Abirami cinema halls were one of the best movie halls of Chennai city in 1990s. However, now Chennai has a lot of better options such as Satyam, Escape and PVR.

For kids to enjoy, there is Snow World, Kids World and Kissing Cars. All the places are crowded and costlier. Snow World is not something which you enjoy if you have experienced the real snow already. It's too artificial and such a small place.

The food zone at the ground floor has a lot of options. However, as it is highly crowded and the space is limited, you will hardly find a place to quietly sit and eat. There are few shops in the mall, but they are not popular brands or shops. Shops like Mega Mart are an exception.

Overall, if you don't have any other place for a weekend, you can visit Abirami Mega Mall.
