Birla Planetarium in Chennai

Located in the Kotturpuram area, the Birla Planetarium is the fifth planetarium named after the memory of great industrialist Shri B.M. Birla. Constructed in 1988, the campus houses eight galleries and about 500 exhibits. The 360-degree sky theatre, the first in India, is the major attraction of the planetarium. Also, it exhibits a few sculptures and photographs of a few scientists. The outer open area has children part with many statues of animals.

Besides the beach, zoo, and children's park, the planetarium remains a permanent favorite travel destination of Chennaites.

Happy travelling.
