Temple Layout:
Sushnesvara temple is hardly known to anyone including the citizens of Bhubaneswar. It is a living temple enshrining Shiva Linga. The exterior walls are plain without any niche images. Based on the architecture style, the temple can be dated to 16th or 17 century CE. It has a Pidha order vimana and there is no Jagamohana. Nandi idol is placed facing the Shiva Linga. The pyramid shaped vimana is plain except for one tantric female figure. There is a separate shrine (probably a later addition) for Parvati.
Happy travelling.
