Ambasamudram is a picturesque town located on the banks of the beautiful Tamraparni river and on the foothills of the Western Ghats. The nearest city of Ambasamudram is Tirunelveli. It is located in Tamil Nadu state in South India.The town has a lot of scenic spots and temples. Papanasam is a smaller town located near Ambasamudram which offers a lot more scenic spots, dams and wonderful waterfalls. Let us explore a spectacular waterfalls - Bana Teertham waterfalls.

Unlike other waterfalls in South India, Bana Teertham is a perennial waterfalls. Water flows in this magnificent falls throughout the year. However, the best season to visit the place is November and December.

This waterfalls is popular in southern Tamil Nadu. However, it remains unknown to the other parts of India. The famous movie 'Roja' was shot in this scenic location.

The place is located at the other end of Kalakkad Mundanthurai forest. To reach Bana Teertham waterfalls, you need to take a boat ride for 20 minutes where you would get to enjoy the surrounding spectacular Western Ghats hills. Another 15 minutes trek would take you to the waterfalls. However, it depends upon the Forest department to allow the visitors till the waterfalls. 

The spectacular waterfalls located within the forest range and surrounded by hills is a must-visit.
