Murugan Temple - Ernakulam, Kerala, India

Ernakulam is the commercial capital city of Kerala state, India. Ernakulam and the nearby Cochin (aka Kochi) are called as twin cities.

Ernakulam has a famous Shiva temple called as Ernakulathappan temple. Apart from that, there is a another big temple for Lord Murugan (Subramanya, the son of Lord Shiva).  It is very rare to find a temple for Lord Subramanya in Kerala state. This temple was built and maintained by Tamil community living in Ernakulam city.

The sanctum enshrines Subramanya along with his consorts Valli and Devasena . The temple also has the idols of Ganesh, Dakshinamurti, Vishnu, Brahma, Durga and Chandikeswara. There is a separate shrine for Navagraha.

Happy travelling.
