Near the campus of Meenakshi College for Women and the Kodampakkam bridge, which is a popular landmark of the city, Sharda temple is situated. The temple was constructed in 1986 CE with the land donated by Meenakshi College.
The temple was originally small but it was renovated in 2012 CE and a huge 120 feet tall tower (gopura) was also constructed. The sanctum enshrines the beautiful idol of Sharda. In the temple, the sub shrines of Venkatachalapati and Ganesha are also found. The temple is administered by Sringeri Sharda Peetha. Happy travelling.
