Lal Bagh is a well known botanical garden. The ruler of Mysore, Hyder Ali, wanted to create a garden similar to Mughal Gardens, and started this in the 18th century CE. However, it was laid down completely by his son Tipu Sultan.

In the late 19th century CE, the garden had just 45 acres. However, more acres of land was kept added to this garden and today this prominent tourist attraction of Bangalore has around 240 acres.

The garden has a beautiful lake and thousands of species of flora. Some of the trees in this beautiful garden are more than 100 years old. The annual flower show is very popular in this garden.

Happy travelling.
