Kodaikanal, as you all probably know, is one of the popular tourist destinations in India. Thousands and thousands of visitors go to this hilly town called as 'Princess of hillstations'. When there are so many popular destinations in Kodaikanal, let us explore a little known tourist attraction in this article.

There is a Jamun tree located in a garden in Shola Road near Kodaikanal Lake. This gnarled tree is more than 500 years old and it is arguably the oldest tree of Kodai region. This has become one of the tourist destinations in the recent past.

Putlur Angala Parameswari Temple - Chennai

Angala Parameswari Temple in Putlur, near  Chennai  city of South India, is a unique temple. The Goddess is in the form of a pregnant woman in this temple. The icon of Angala Parameswari is believed to be self-manifested, called swayambhu.  As per the legend, a village head tortured a poor for borrowed money. The poor was forced to plough an infertile land. While ploughing the ground full of rocks, the villager noticed that blood was oozing out from a particular place. There, he discovered the image of the Goddess. Mount Road or Anna Salai is one of the most happening places in  Chennai . There are two famous Islamic shrines on Mount Road – one is  Thousands Light mosque .
