ECR a.k.a East Coast Road in Chennai is one of the most happening places in the city. The Shirdi Sai Baba temple in ECR is one of the most beautiful and calm places in Chennai. The temple is situated at Injambakkam suburb which is around 21 kms from Central Railway Station. Prarthna theatre is one of the well known landmarks in Injambakkam. If you take immediate left after Prarthna theatre, you can reach to this temple.

Indians know very well about Sai Baba. For the sake of the global audience who read this post, let me brief about Sai Baba. Sai Baba was a saint lived in a place named Shirdi in Central India towards the end of 19th century CE and the beginning of 20th century CE. Sai Baba's devotees consider him either as God or someone equivalent to God. You can find Sai Baba's temples all over India.

This temple, which is located at ECR, is located inside a big estate surrounded full of trees. The place is very near to the beach. So, you can feel the sea breeze from here. The temple is very calm and peaceful and it is very well maintained.

The main deity of the temple is Sai Baba. Apart from Sai Baba, the temple also houses small shrines and idols for a lot of Hindu deities such as Ganesh, Subramanya with Valli-Devsena, Ram with Sita, Lakshman, Hanuman, Radha Krishna, Vishnu and Navagrahas. There is also a small hall with full of Sai Baba's pictures and photographs.

Do visit the temple and enjoy the serenity of the place.

Happy travelling.
