Bengaluru, the capital city of Karnataka, India, is officially known as Bangalore. It's often referred to as the 'Silicon Valley of India' due to the presence of major IT companies in the city. Known for its pleasant climate, Bangalore boasts a variety of tourist attractions, including parks, gardens, temples, and more. In this article, we'll explore an intriguing and beautiful site known as Cubbon Park.

Cubbon Park is a renowned urban park situated at the heart of Bangalore city. The park was inaugurated in 1870 CE, originally spanning 100 acres. Over the years, additional acres of land were incorporated into this garden, and today, this prominent Bangalorean tourist destination covers approximately 300 acres.

Initially named Meade's Park, it was later renamed Cubbon Park in honor of Sir Mark Cubbon, the Commissioner of Mysore. In 1927 CE, it received another name, Sri Chamarajendra Park, yet it continues to be widely recognized as Cubbon Park.

The garden boasts a diverse array of flora and fauna, with some of its trees being over a century old. Additionally, historic buildings and statues of renowned personalities grace the park's grounds. Cubbon Park is undoubtedly a must-visit destination in Bangalore, aptly known as the 'City of Gardens.'
