Sivananda Ashram is located on the banks of the river Ganga in the outskirts of Rishikesh. It was founded by Swami Sivananda Saraswati in 1936 CE.
Swami Sivananda, who was born in the southern part of India, was a Hindu spiritual leader and Yoga Guru. He spent most part of his life in Rishikesh.
Today, Sivananda Ashram serves as a place for the devotees to get trained and practice Yoga and also there are cottages available for the devotees.
The Ashram located in a serene locality gives divine feeling for sure. The building is surround by many trees and is located right on the banks of the beautiful Ganga river. The holy samadhi of Swamiji is located in the Ashram. The first floor has an idol of Shiva Linga. Near the Samadhi, the metal idol of Vishnu and a big statue of Swami are situated.
