Kolavizhi Amman Temple - Chennai, India

Mylapore area in Chenni city of South India is famous for many ancient temples including Kapaleeswarar temple. There is an old temple near Sanksrit college dedicated to Kolvaizhi Amman aka Bhadrakali Amman, a form of mother Goddess. It's a grama devata temple (a kind of village temple) in Chennai city.

Kolavizhi Amman temple is very small; however, hundreds of devotees visit this temple regularly. The main shrine has two idols - a small idol and a big idol of Kolavizhi Amman. The temple also has the idols of SaptaKanniyar (7 mother goddess) and a shrine for Hanuman. Ganesha is found near the entrance and another idol of Ganesha under a tree.

Happy travelling.
